Building the Home of Your Parenting Life
A Letter to Caring Parents & Home Educators
Everyone has a story to tell.
HowApp is a global parenting community with moms and dads who care deeply about child development. Parents love the HowApp community. It is the hub for their parenting lives.
Parents join HowApp to find great activities for kids, connect with their friends who are also parents and get inspired, and motivated by parenting stories and activities. It’s like Instagram or Facebook, but only for caring parents & home educators.
The app is now available in App Store and Google Play. It will be soon available in the Huawei Store and Amazon AppStore for Android. It’s accessible in 183 countries all over the world. In case if you don’t have the latest app, you can find the download links on our website:
From now on, you will be able to publish your own parenting activities and create a unique album (or diary) of your child’s development. You can share pretty much anything about your parenting life: a bit of advice, a funny story, an inspiring photo, your favourite creative play, a very important moment, an honest question. You will also be able to use a number of child development-focused tools (shelves, routine planner, activity tracker etc.) and learn from our existing content.
If you have any questions or requests, please send us feedback to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also join the discussion about HowApp on Facebook - our group is Montessori At Home. (Group link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/montessoriathomewithhowapp)
If you want to learn more about how to publish in HowApp, continue reading.
Below you can find a step-by-step tutorial with everything you need to know about our publishing tools.
How to publish your story using the “Quick Post” feature
Use the “Quick Post” button to quickly upload content, which will be only visible in the home feeds of your followers and on your profile page. Quick Posts allow you to share your content in no time. This content will not be searchable on the search page.
Stories, photos, videos, questions, tips, experiments, creative plays, routines – pretty much everything related to parenting has now its place in HowApp. To create a quick post, click on the “+” button located in the centre of the menu and then select the “Quick Post” option.
How to publish your activity using the “Advanced Post” feature
Use the “Advanced Post” button to upload content using our child development-focused template. This content will be moderated (you might get contacted by an admin if the post does not meet the standards or needs improvement) and visible everywhere in the app. Each Advanced Post is automatically saved as a draft, so there’s no need to rush. All activity drafts can be found in your profile.
Open HowApp on your mobile phone and click on the “+” (Create) button, and then select the “Advanced Post” option.
Fill out the title of the activity and upload a photo or video (either multiple photos or videos).
You are required to provide some general information about the activity:
- Purpose of activity: What’s the goal of the activity? Which area of child development is this activity designed for?
- Steps: Describe the process step by step.
- Material needed: What items do you need for this activity?
You are required to provide more details about the activity:
- Difficulty: How difficult is it to complete this activity? Easy, medium or difficult?
- Prep time: How much time do you need to prepare this activity? 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes?
- Play time: How much time do you need for playing? 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes?
You’re almost done! By selecting categories, age groups and seasonal themes, you can help our community quickly find your activity.
Almost there! You can now preview your activity and adjust it, if necessary. If you’re happy, click the “Publish” button to publish the activity and make it searchable in the entire app.
You can publish and share as many activities as you want. Be creative, invite your family and friends, and share your activities with our global community.
See you in HowApp.
